Homeostasis
The variables (BloodSugar, BloodPressure, Temperature) inside our body must stay in a approporate range.
Homeostasis is the process to maintain consistent internal environment.
Control Components:
Monitor
Detect change in variables
Cooridinating Center
Receives message from Monitor and directs response via Regulator
Regulator
Carry out response from Cooridinating Center
Hypothalamus
Part of our brain that initiates hormonal/nervous response after receives message from Monitor.
Feedback System
Maintains changes in variable
Negative Feedback
Change in Environment triggers reaction to reverse the change
Positive Feedback
Change in Environment triggers reaction to reinforce the change.
